PhD Viva was held at Beirut Arab University-Debbieh campus on March 19, 2010. Oral examination started when the examination committee asked me to introduce the work done in time not exceeding 45 minutes. The presentation lasted for 43 minutes. Then the committee members took turns by questioning me about the materials in the submitted thesis entitled "Error Correction of Noisy Block Ciphers". The thesis was previously submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Communications and Electronics Engineering. The thesis was supervised by Professor Onsy Abdel-Alim, Professor Mohamed El-Sayed Rajab, Dr. Ziad Osman and Dr. Rached Zantout.

The examination committee members were;
Professor Onsy Abdel Alim, Chairman of Electrical Engineering Department -Beirut Arab University,
Professor Ayman Kaisi, Department of Electrical Engineering - American University of Beirut,
Dr Mohammed Rizk, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering - Alexandra University,
Dr. Rached Zantout Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering - Amir Sultan University, Riad and
Dr Ziad Osman Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering -Beirut Arab University

After the examination committee members were done with their questions, the audience and I were asked to clear the auditorium. After about 20 minutes, we were all asked to reenter the auditorium for result announcement. Dr Onsy Abdel Alim who was the head of the committee read the following;

"Faculty of Engineering - Beirut Arab University, Graduate Studies examination report for PhD thesis- On Friday 19/3/2010 at 1:30 pm, a special committee was gathered for the thesis examination of engineer Nabil Mirza for the thesis entitled "Error Correction of Noisy Block Ciphers" in auditorium B335 in Engineering Building at Beirut Arab University Debbyeh campus. After the revision of the essential, applied and internal rules of the faculty of engineering especially the articles that are related for granting PhD degree, the committee decided that the student Nabil Mirza deserves to be granted Doctorate of Philosophy-PhD-."

Afterwards, a celebration party was held to thank my supervisors' committee for the long journey that we have spent together. A guestbook was filled with lovely words from the invited audience. The audience was faculty members from different engineering departments, colleagues undertaking graduate courses, students that I have taught security courses, business representatives, Lebanese Customs personnel and relatives.
